Samantha Shapiro is a PhD candidate in Epidemiology at McGill University. Her doctoral thesis is studying prescription drug use, cancer incidence, and the association between metformin use and the risk of hormone-dependent cancers among patients with polycystic ovary syndrome. She also studies the various effects of drugs used in the management of type 2 diabetes.
