Dr. Mary Ellen Vajravelu is a pediatric endocrinologist in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research focuses on pediatric obesity and type 2 diabetes. Her research aims to identify and implement strategies to increase engagement in physical activity; to uncover and address inequities in health outcomes; and to identify and implement optimal treatment approaches, including use of appropriate pharmacotherapy and diabetes technology.
