Merete Osler, MD, DMSc, PhD, clinical professor and chief physician at Center for Clinical Research and Prevention, Frederiksberg & Bispebjerg Hospitals, Denmark. Main Resarch areas psychiatric- and pharmaco-epidemiology. Using advanced twin- and sibling design my research group have shown that sharedfamily factors explain a part of the observed association between adult socioeconomic position and different health outcomes. My research has also addressed the co-occurrence of mental and somatic disorders and treatment of patients with mental disorders, its effects and side effects. In several
studies in collaboration with clinicians we have explored side effects of benzodiazepines or electroconvulsive therapy on a number of health outcomes.
