Dr. Deshayne Fell is an Associate Professor in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa and a Scientist in the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute. She received her PhD in Epidemiology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Fell�s research uses large, linked population databases and birth registries to improve our understanding of factors affecting maternal and child population health, with a particular focus on influenza and pertussis immunization during pregnancy and their relationship with birth outcomes and longer-term safety and effectiveness outcomes. Since 2014, Dr. Fell has been a member of two World Health Organization working groups related to immunization during pregnancy.
