I am an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) with a clinical focus on caring for pregnant patients with complex medical problems. My work with the VUMC Maternal Pharmacoepidemiology group in collaboration with investigators from health policy, biostatistics, epidemiology, and pediatrics uses Medicaid data linked to vital records to examine medication prescribing and adherence during pregnancy and postpartum. My other research enrolls pregnant patients in longitudinal studies to examine how prenatal exposures affect child development and clinical trials focused on novel models for pregnancy care. At a national level, I serve as a Board Member for the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine and have previously written committee opinions as a member of the SMFM Publications Committee.
