Paul Spin (PhD, MA) is a Director of Biostatistics at EVERSANA, Value & Evidence. As a Director, Paul oversees real-world evidence and indirect treatment comparison projects for submissions to Health Technology Agencies worldwide, regulatory applications, and post-marketing studies.
Paul is an experienced statistician who provides methodological leadership across a range of methods including propensity score techniques, advanced multivariable modeling, indirect treatment comparisons, and real-world evidence generation. Paul has developed or co-developed standardized software for conducting propensity score analyses, simulated treatment comparisons and matching-adjusted indirect comparisons within IndiRect, a general software platform for conducting HTA-grade indirect treatment comparisons.
Prior to joining EVERSANA, Paul held a post-doctoral appointment as a Senior Research Data Analyst at Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine, where he oversaw the development of primary RWD and RWE-generation relating to the impact of a comprehensive school-based pediatric intervention on the health and academic of under-resourced children in Baltimore, Maryland. Paul has received formal training in theoretical economics and applied econometrics, receiving his PhD in economics from Dalhousie University. He also has a MA in economics and a BA in economics with a minor in mathematics.
