Liz Bell, PhD, is a Senior Epidemiologist at Optum Epidemiology. At Optum, she leads post authorization safety studies as well as collaborates with the FDA on vaccine safety and effectiveness studies. She has considerable experience leading quality epidemiologic research, which she oversees from study design to dissemination, and has over eight years of experience in the field of pharmacoepidemiology. Her experience and publications span a wide range of topics, including cardiovascular, vaccines, oncology, pregnancy, and leveraging electronic health record and claims data for research. Dr. Bell received her master’s in public health and doctoral degrees in epidemiology from the University of Minnesota. After graduation, she completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in pharmacoepidemiology at Mayo Clinic, after which she continued her research partnership with Mayo Clinic as a Research Collaborator. Dr. Bell is also an active member of the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology.
