Xunming Sun, PhD MS is a postdoctoral research fellow, epidemiology scientist at Global Medical Epidemiology, Pfizer Inc. As a pharmacoepidemiologist specialized in supporting rare diseases and internal medicine drug development pipelines, she is experienced in leading non-interventional real-world data natural history studies, external control pilot studies, assessing background safety rates, prevalence estimates, data feasibility assessments and more. She has expertise in designing study analyses regarding disease progression, treatment patterns, treatment outcomes, predictor modeling and more, utilizing traditional biostatistical methods as well as machine learning methods.
Xunming earnt her PhD degree from Tulane University in Louisiana. During that time, her research focus was on the epidemiology of sleep medicine and its association with aging and cardiovascular diseases using NHANES database and the Bogalusa Heart Study data. Prior to that, her graduate research focus at Fudan University, Shanghai was on sleep medicine and cardiovascular diseases using data from two longitudinal cohorts in rural China.
