Dr Rutendo Muzambi is a post-doctoral research fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) with experience of using large-scale primary and secondary care electronic health records in the UK and population-based cohort studies in the Netherlands. Her current research focuses on the trends and factors associated with statin use in the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease. Rutendo holds a Master of Pharmacy degree underpinned by several years of professional experience working as a pharmacist in the UK. In 2017, she obtained a masters in Epidemiology at Maastricht University in the Netherlands during which she investigated the link between hyperglycameia, insulin resistance and depression using data from the Maastricht study. After this, she completed a PhD in Epidemiology at LSHTM where she investigated the link between common infections, dementia and cognitive impairment using routinely collected electronic health records.
