Paige Wartko, PhD, MPH, is a Collaborative Scientist at Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute (KPWHRI). Her expertise includes medication safety, behavioral health, and mental health. She currently studies medication safety in pregnant women and collaborates on pragmatic trials related to opioid use, including one focused on treating patients with opioid use disorder with medication in the primary care setting. Dr. Wartko's pharmacoepidemiology experience began in 2016, through her doctoral dissertation work with Dr. Sascha Dublin on the association of antidepressant use in pregnancy and risk of maternal and infant outcomes during pregnancy, including gestational diabetes, maternal gestational weight gain, and infant birthweight.
