Sandra Lopez Leon obtained her PhD in epidemiology from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She works as a pharmacoepidemiologist at Novartis and is Adjunct faculty at Rutgers University in New Jersey USA. She has 10+ years of research experience on medication safety in pregnancy and lactation performing studies, using large claims databases, electronic medical records, population registries and using enhanced pharmacovigilance. She has authored over 50 publications. Sandra leads a task in WPI of the pregnancy and lactation consortium IMI ConcePTION.
Sandra has been a member of ISPE since 2008, serving as a regular reviewer for ICPE abstracts, and chairing scientific sessions. She chaired the ISPE-sponsored Spanish speaking ISPE Chapter for 3 years. Within MiPaL she runs the twitter list @ISPEMiPaL, is co-creator of the SIG Newsletter MiPaL International and is organizing the MiPaL social which will take place in Halifax during the ICPE in August 2023.
