PhD Student, Early Career Scholar-Pharmacist
University of Waterloo/ Women's College Hospital/ University of Toronto, Canada
My name is Dr. Mira Maximos (PharmD, MSC, BScPhm, BHSc, ACPR) and pronouns are she/her.
I am an Early Career Scholar-Pharmacist with Women’s College Hospital, a Sessional Clinical Lecturer with the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, and a PhD Student at the University of Waterloo focusing on infectious disease pharmacoepidemiology with my project being centered around penicillin allergy delabeling.
My clinical work mostly focuses on ASP/ID and general medicine in the ambulatory care setting. I trained and practiced in acute care and community hospital settings. I am interested in co-designed research, health care epidemiology and interventions aimed at system level or behavior change that improve patient care.
The areas of research that get me most excited are health equity, antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacoepidemiology, quality improvement and implementation science.
I also love patient care, teaching, mentoring and education in general, and knowing that I can do all these things is both humbling and empowering.
