Pilar Hernandez-Con, was born and raised in Costa Rica. She completed her medical school at the University of Costa Rica. She practiced as a primary care physician for 6 years before moving the the U.S. She completed her Masters in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania in December 2021, and she is currently a fourth-year PhD student at the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, University of Florida. Pilar current research focuses on access to care (including pharmacological therapies) in patients with hepatitis C infection and on comparative effectivenes of pharmacological therapies for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). She has also experience in comparative effectiveness and safety studies in the therapeutic area of neurology. Upon graduation, Pilar is interested in studying drug utilization of psychotropics in Costa Rica and other low- and middle- income countries.
