Lisiane Leal is an Epidemiologist at the CHU Sainte Justine Research Center working with Prof. Anick Berard. She was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health at McGill University, under the supervision of Prof. Robert Platt. Lisiane has a D.Sc. in Epidemiology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and Master in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Sciences. She was also trained in Health Management and Health Informatics. Lisiane worked as a hospital pharmacist from 2008 to 2016, before dedicating her career to pharmacoepidemiology research. She has used different data sources to demonstrate patterns of drug use and health outcomes. As a postdoctoral fellow, she focused on perinatal research, with a special interest in maternal outcomes and medication use during pregnancy. Lisiane was awarded a FRQS/SQHA Jacques-de Champlain Scholarship (2020-2022) and a trainee in the DSECT-CIHR Program (2021). Lisiane was responsible for creating and leading the first ISPE student chapter in Latin America in 2019.
