Assistant Professor
Department of Biostatistics and Research support, Julius Center for Health sciences and Primary care, University Medical Center Utrecht, the Netherlands, Netherlands
A genuine interest in clinical research studies drives my research. I have worked on various epidemiological studies, including clinical epidemiology, molecular epidemiology/system biology, and pharmacoepidemiology. In my PhD training, I studied risk factors and medications used in children with chronic disorders, including diabetes. Now, my studies focus on Molecular epidemiology to study the role of biomarkers, including omics layers, in developing cardiometabolic diseases or responses to medications. After graduation, during my work independently as a Postdoctoral scientific researcher at Erasmus MC for four years and now almost two years as a senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Data Science and Biostatistics/Julius Centre, I have been involved in over 50 projects; most topics on precision medicine in cardiometabolic disorders, either leading the group or supervising students (10 PhD students, 13 MSc students, and a junior Postdoc).
