Principal Epidemiologist

I am Tariq Halasa and hold a BSc in Veterinary Medicine and an MSc and PhD in Epidemiology and Economics. Following my PhD, i worked for about 10 years at the Technical University of Denmark focusing on research and teaching on the spread and control of infectious diseases mainly in the veterinary field, and moving in positions from a post-doc to a senior researchers leading a small research group consisting of 7 research. Thereafter i moved to the University of Copenahgen as a professor in disease control and leading a group of researchers focusing on research, education and providing scientific advice to the authorities in Denmark and related organisations of the EU (e.g. EFSA). My research focused on disease spread and control, disease serveilance and monitoring, and various epidemiological studies including both prospective and retrospective data analysis.
In 2021, i moved to Novo Nordisk to work as a Principal Epidemiologist focusing on pharmacoepidemiological studies in relation to insulin use in people with diabetes.
