Jacinthe Leclerc is a registrered nurse with 20 years of experience, including civilian and military clinical settings. She began her career in research in the pharmaceutical industry more than 12 years ago, then turned to academic research. After obtaining her doctorate in pharmaceutical sciences - major in pharmacoepidemiology from Laval University, Jacinthe completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pharmacoepidemiology at the Faculty of Medicine of McGill University. She is actively involved in international expert committees; she is notably a member of the Epidemiology and Prevention council of the American Heart Association. Jacinthe worked for more than 6 years as a professor in the Department of Nursing at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières. She is now a professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Laval University and the recipient of a career scholarship from the Chercheur-boursiers-Junior 1 program of the Fonds de recherche du Québec-Santé. Also a university researcher at the Research Center of the University Institute of Cardiology and Pulmonology of Quebec-Laval University, she develops a pharmacovigilance research program aiming to solve problems associated with under-reporting adverse drug events.
