I did my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Biotechnology from Bangalore university, India. Pharmacovigilance always fascinated me from my Master’s studies. After completing my Master’s, I was working as a senior process executive in a private farm in the field of Pharmacovigilance, where I gained experience in case processing, MedDRA coding, drug, and event coding, reporting and submissions in Oracle software with Argus safety database. I am fortunate to work in the laboratory of Professor Jacinthe Leclerc, Department of Biomedical Sciences, UQTR, Canada, where my current PhD research focuses on the inherent problem in pharmacovigilance i.e., causality assessment of an adverse drug reactions (ADRs). My research project aims to improve the causality assessment of ADR which leads to find the simplest yet exhaustive causality assessment tool and to check its reliability and validity. Our study will help to improve knowledge and awareness of causality assessment of adverse events by healthcare professionals, who could become better at recognizing and reporting severe adverse event to Health Canada. In the future, I would like to continue my research in the field of pharmacovigilance to improve and contribute to Canadian HealthCare System.
