Anna-Belle Beau has an initial training in Biostatistics completed by a PhD in Epidemiology on the evaluation of the breast cancer screening program. The objective of her thesis was to contribute to the optimization of breast cancer screening through a better understanding of its benefits and limitations. More specifically, Anna-Belle investigated the long-term effect of breast cancer screening and the effect on a population of women with chronic diseases using data from the Danish national registries. Her current work is part of a European project "ConcePTION" on the evaluation of drug safety during pregnancy in Europe. Among other things, Anna-Belle is working on the identification of drug indications in medico-administrative databases, more specifically on the study of certain antiepileptic drugs that may be prescribed not only for epilepsy but also for anxiety disorders and neuropathic pain.
