Henry Michael is a Ph.D. student in Experimental Medicine at McGill University. He holds an MSc in Pharmacology & Toxicology from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Madonna University, Nigeria. His doctoral work, supervised by Dr. Nancy Mayo, focuses on knowing to what extent medication burden predicts frailty in people aging with HIV. This work aims to develop a predictive algorithm that detects people living with HIV who are frail and at risk for medication-related adverse health outcomes and would benefit from medication review and deprescribing interventions. By integrating methods of pharmacoepidemiology, network analysis, machine learning, and psychometrics, he hopes to understand the medication drivers of frailty states.
