Joseph Blais, BScPharm, PhD, is a post-doctoral fellow in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health, The University of Hong Kong. His research interests include drug utilization research, comparative effectiveness, evidence synthesis and critical appraisal of non-randomized studies, which to date has focused on lipid-modifying and antimicrobial drugs. His is seeking collaborators with an interest in solving problems related to the optimal prescribing and adherence of lipid-modifying drugs, specifically questions related to comparative effectiveness of different treatment strategies and adherence to novel treatments such as PCSK9 inhibitors and bempedoic acid.
He is a registered pharmacist with the Alberta College of Pharmacy and the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong and his pharmacist experience includes a postgraduate year 1 (PGY1) hospital pharmacy residency with Alberta Health Services (Edmonton) and five years as a clinical pharmacist at the University of Alberta Hospital. He is a member of the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE) and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP).
