Karin Swart, PhD, is Senior Researcher Manager at the PHARMO Institute. She has about 15 years of expertise in designing and conducting epidemiological studies in different fields, with a special interest in lung conditions, osteoporosis, and elderly. She collaborated in several European research projects and has about 80 peer-reviewed publications.
She earned her MSc in Human Movement Sciences from VU University and her MSc in Epidemiology from VU University Medical Center Amsterdam. She obtained her PhD from VU University Medical Center Amsterdam. The focus of her thesis was on osteoporosis and physical function in older persons. She is affiliated to the department of General Practice of Amsterdam UMC.
