Dr. ir. Anja Geldhof is a leader at Janssen for generating real world evidence on the safety of marketed pharmaceutical products. In more recent years she has focused on enhancing the company’s approach to medication safety in pregnancy studies. She takes particular pride in advancing the field of pregnancy related research in Europe through her involvement in the IMI2 ConcePTION public-private partnership, which she joined on behalf of Janssen in 2018. The ConcePTION consortium aims to build an ecosystem (learning health system) for better monitoring and communication of the safety of medication use in pregnancy and breastfeeding. She co-leads work package 1, a group of experts facilitating the next generation of EU perinatal pharmacoepidemiologic studies using existing healthcare data sources, through the development (i.e. listing, defining, and operationalizing) and validation of standards for core evidence elements and optimized methodology for analysis.
