Alex Liede is a Senior Director in Global Epidemiology at AbbVie with 20 years of experience in the biopharma industry. Alex leads a team of epidemiologists focused on real-world evidence solutions in support of safety strategy and cross-functional initiatives. Before joining AbbVie in 2019, Alex worked at Amgen in the Center for Observational Research, as research scientists at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and as a genetic counsellor with Cancer Care Ontario and Women's College Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Alex holds his PhD from the University of Toronto in cancer genetic epidemiology, Master's in genetic counselling from the University of Manchester, UK, and Bachelor's in molecular biology and genetics from the University of Toronto. Alex grew up in Brazil and Canada, and is currently based in Dublin, Ireland.
