Dr. van Gelder is Assistant Professor in Pharmacoepidemiology at the Radboud university medical center in Nijmegen (The Netherlands) and Researcher in Biostatistics and Pharmacoepidemiology at the PharmaSafe Research Group, Department of Pharmacy, University of Oslo (Norway). Her research focuses on the safety of medication use during pregnancy and in particular on disentangling the possible detrimental effects of pharmacological treatment and the effects of the underlying disorder in the etiology of adverse infant health outcomes. Furthermore, dr. van Gelder has a strong interest in the development, validation, and use of exposure and outcome assessment methods using online platforms, including their practical and statistical implementation in research and health promotion. She is co-founder and scientific coordinator of the PRIDE Study, an ongoing prospective cohort study among Dutch pregnant women and their infants with >13,000 participants.
