After five years service with the British Army, James began his career in association management in Washington, DC, in 1990 and has been working in this sector ever since. His formative experience was with individual membership societies in the biomedical sector before an 8-year role leading an international accountancy network based in London, where he led the growth of the network from 41 to 86 countries and achieved an increase of 77% in the organization's membership. He is currently president of PAI Management Corporation, where he personally manages two clients.
