Cynthia Girman, DrPH, FISPE, Founder and President of CERobs Consulting, LLC, is a seasoned epidemiologist and outcomes research executive with nearly 40 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and strong interest in biostatistics and observational research. Currently, Cindy consults on study design, analytic methods and protocol development for real world evidence, such as registries, post-authorization safety studies, natural history studies, comparative effectiveness studies and external control group strategies. She and her collaborators at CERobs provide strategic consulting on strategies for generating real world evidence across phases of drug development. She also consults on design of randomized controlled clinical trials, particularly on development and validation of innovative endpoints for randomized clinical trials, including patient reported outcomes, as well as patient engagement and qualitative research (patient interviews and focus groups). Cindy has led multi-institution academic methods collaborations, published extensively and reviews for many journals. As Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology at University of North Carolina Gillings Global School of Public Health, Cindy mentors numerous doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows. She was an elected Board member 2016-2020 and is a fellow of ISPE, for which she annually reviews abstracts, organizes symposia and teaches in a pragmatic randomized clinical trials (pRCT) course. In September 2014, Cindy was the first industry member nominated to the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Methodology Committee, on which she actively continues along with their Clinical Trials Advisory Panel. She is co-editor of a textbook on pRCTs using primary data collection and electronic health records, published by Elsevier Sciences in 2021.
