Dr. Kourtney Davis is currently Senior Director and Therapy Area Matrix Lead for Global Epidemiology at Janssen R&D, where she leads a team of 24+ epidemiologists aligned to therapy areas (Neuroscience, Immunology, CV/Met, Oncology, ID/Global Public Health/Vaccines, and Pulmonary Hypertension). Prior to joining Janssen/J&J in November 2018, Dr. Davis spent nearly 20 years of her career as an epidemiologist at GSK leading teams in Global Epidemiology and Real World Data & Analytics. Dr. Davis earned a MSPH and PhD in epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Gillings School of Public Health, where she has enthusiastically served as an adjunct assistant professor collaborating with both faculty and graduate students. Kourtney is currently a Janssen representative on the PhRMA RWE working group and previously served on the Industry Council for PCORNet and the Duke Margolis RWE Collaborative. She has served as the chair-elect, chair and immediate past Chair of the Publications and Communications Committee for the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (2017-2021). She has collaborated with academic partners and public-private consortia across US, EU, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. She is passionate about utilizing RWD to innovate evidence planning and generation of RWE for Regulatory decision making, including point of care pragmatic trials and methods development for external control comparators for single arm/long-term extensions of RCTs. Dr. Davis has published extensively on the epidemiology and burden of respiratory disease, real world use of medications and their effects in populations.
