Xiaodan (Melody) Mai, PhD, MBBS, is a Research Scientist in the Therapeutics and Infectious Disease Epidemiology (TIDE) group in the Department of Population Medicine. She currently works on the FDA-sponsored Sentinel Initiative as well as industry-sponsored projects for drug safety surveillance and evaluation.
Dr. Mai received her doctorate degree and post-doctoral training in Epidemiology with a concentration in oncology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Before arriving at DPM, Dr. Mai worked as a Senior Researcher at HealthCore, Inc., where she led pharmaceutical industry-sponsored projects focusing on post-market drug safety, active monitoring, outcome validation, and machine learning in claims data. Prior to her role at HealthCore, Dr. Mai worked as a Health Services Research Consultant at UnitedHealthcare.
