Prof Ibrahim Adekunle Oreagba is a Consultant Pharmacist and Clinical Pharmacologist with a Masters and Doctorate degree in Pharmacology. He also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Pharmaco-epidemiology and Pharmacovigilance from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine London U.K.
He is an internationally certified Halal Auditor with the Malaysian Industrial Development Corporation and the Chairman of the Halal Certification Authority.
He is the Secretary General of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists and the current Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Therapeutics and Toxicology, College of Medicine University of Lagos Idi-araba.
He is co-founder and Lead Researcher, African Centre of Excellence for Drug Research, Herbal Medicine Development and Regulatory Science, a world bank Implementation Project worth six million US dollars.
An immediate past Editor-in-Chief of the West African Journal of Pharmacy, one time Editor-in-Chief of the Nigerian Journal of Pharmacy, currently an Editor in the West African Journal of Pharmacology and Drug Research, and an Editorial Consultant for the Nigerian Quarterly Journal of Hospital Medicine, Journal of Basic Medical Sciences and the Journal of Basic and Social Pharmacy Research.
He is a Core Technical Member of the National Drug Safety Advisory Committee, NAFDAC, that developed the National Pharmacovigilance Policy and member, WHO/FMOH Expert Committee on the development of National Standard Treatment Guideline.
He has co-authored five books and published over 100 original scientific papers in the field of clinical pharmacology and pharmacy practice.
His is currently the Executive Director of a welfare-oriented NGO named Human Concern Foundation International.
