She is the current academic coordinator of the master’s degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, the Certificate in Biostatistics and the Certificate in Data Science for Global Health. She set up the latter two certificate programs. Kirakoya’s research interests focuses on the use of large volumes of data gathered through various sources, innovative study designs and data analyses to better understand the epidemiological profile of diseases, the social inequality, and the evaluation of real-world interventions in public health in order to improve women’s and children’s health. Her experience in the Belgian Federal Agency of Medicines and Drug Products and the European Medicines Agency also gives her a unique insight into the field of clinical research and to better understand each of the stages leading to the marketing of drugs, in addition to the follow up processes of these drugs, through pharmaco-epidemiological studies.
