Stephen Kimmel, MD, MSCE is Dean's Professor Epidemiology and Chair of the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Florida, He has served in leadership roles in Epidemiology for the past 16 years, focused on the growth and nurturing of a large program of research and education. His research, which has been funded continuously for the past 26 years, focuses on improving the use of existing medical therapies, particularly related to genetic epidemiology, adherence, and patient-centered outcomes. He teaches a PhD Seminar course and a course in chronic disease epidemiology. He has served as a primary mentor for 36 trainees. He has received four separate awards in recognition of his teaching and mentoring.
